Some of the children of Tender Mercies.
A great day in Kayunga! This morning the AIDSpirit team drove to Buggoge Village to visit Charles’ ancestral home. Charles talked to us about his background and the beginnings of Tender Mercies and AIDSpirit. It is a truly amazing story.
The team got to pick and eat ripe pineapples and jackfruit. The best pineapple I have ever had! There are also banana, coffee, mango and papaya plants on the property.
We spent the afternoon at Tender Mercies. Several children arrived home today, including Alex who has graduated and now is starting an entertainment/mc company in Kampala. Gretchen,
Jean and Kathy continue to head up clothing and hygiene product distribution. Gretchen, Jean, Kathy and Sage have been making sure students get their sponsor letters written and have updated photos taken. Jessica, Sage, Colter and Gunter played lots of cards with the children. Duane and the local electrician had a busy afternoon updating light fixtures.
Last night during dinner the local district commissioner (president of Kayunga District) met us at a restaurant to thank AIDSpirit for our work.
